Important Information about access to Park Road Site

In order to minimise disturbance to our neighbours please do not take your car onto the site before 6am.
In addition please take care in the parking area outside the allotments not to slam car doors
and to open the gates as quietly as possible especially in the early morning and in the evening.
Thank You

Bonfires - Park Road Site

Following a number of complaints from local residents, bonfires at Park Road will now only be permitted between 1st October and 31st March.

If you do decide to have a bonfire, please ensure that you abide by the following rules:-

- Fires are to be in a cleared area at a distance of at least 10m from any property.

- Only light a bonfire when the wind is blowing away from the houses surrounding the allotment.
Should the wind change, please put your bonfire out.

- You must attend your bonfire at all times and not cause a nuisance to neighbouring residents or other plotholders.

- A suitable fire-extinguishing appliance is to be kept available for immediate use.

- You must fully extinguish your bonfire at least one hour before leaving the site.

- Only burn dry material from your plot which you are unable to take to the recycling centre or place in your domestic brown bin.

- Never bring material from outside on to the allotment to burn, or burn plastic or man-made waste.

Any Plotholder who does not conform to the above requirements may cause a loss of insurance cover
and would therefore be acting entirely at his or her own risk as to all potential consequences.

Ticks and Lyme Disease

Ticks carrying disease are found across the UK. Hampshire has been identified as a high-risk area.
Ticks can be very small and can go unnoticed.
They are most active from March to October, but they can also be found on mild winter days.
You will not feel the tick attach to you, so check your skin and that of children.
Remove ticks carefully without squashing them, if possible, using a tick removal tool.
If infected by a tick bite, symptoms of Lyme Disease appear on average 14 days after the tick bite.
Symptoms of Lyme disease include flu-like symptoms, extreme tiredness, muscle pain and weakness and joint pain.
In some, but not all cases a bull’s eye rash appears on the skin.
